London Friend is an organisation based at Kings Cross that supports the health and well being of people who identify as (or are questioning whether they are) lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered. The organisation provided numerous services including support groups and low cost short term counselling.
Most GP services now have a counselling service that you can be referred to. The counselling is usually short term and there can be a waiting list for this service.
The British Psychotherapy Foundation offers low cost intensive therapy by experienced trainees at an advanced stage of their training. Sessions are several times a week and fees are capped at £25 a session but can be much lower.

and thereapists working locally. Some counsellors will off low cost sessions usually between £25 - 40.
This organisation offers low cost therapy by students training at the Trust.
Sessions are between £10-15 for those who have been financially assessed as not being able to full the full session fee.
Mind provides support for and information about mental health for people. Bromley Mind has recently set up new services to support people living in Lewisham.
Lewisham Bereavement Counselling service offers support and counselling to people living in the Borough of Lewishan who have experienced a bereavement.
Oneinfour is a support service for people and their families who have experienced sexual abuse. The service offers counselling for individual, couples and families who have been effected by sexual abuse. The service is based in Catford.
The awareness centre is based in Clapham and offers full fee and low cost counselling 7 days a week and at accessible hours 7am - 9pm
Waterloos community counselling offers low cost and affordable counselling. The service can provide multi-ethnic counselling and counselling in additional languages.
The Samaritans provides 24 hour support for those in distress or needing to talk.
The Cassell Centre provides counselling, CBT and social work at low cost to people who live or work in Lewisham and would not otherwise be able to have access to therapy
Solidarity in a crisis
The Metro centre is based in Greenwich and provides support for mental health and well-being, sexual health and issues relating to gender and sexuality. They offer time limted low cost counselling as well as drop in groups and advice.
Relate counselling offers counselling for people facing difficulties with a relationship. This is usally people in a romantic relationship, but can be any relationship e.g mother/father and child, siblings etc. Relate has local offices at London Bridge, in the city and Bromley.
WPF therapy is a charitable organisation based near London Bridge that offers a range of therapy, including group therapy and CBT. Therapy is means tested, but sessions start at £40 for low income.
The Inner City Centre is an organisation based at London Bridge and offers psychoanalytical psychotherapy. The therapy is means tested with some low cost therapy available.
The havens is a network of specialist sexual assault referral centres across London open 24/7 for people who have been sexually assaulted or raped in the last 12 months. There is also information and support for friends and family here. The havens is commissioned by NHS England and the Metropolitan police and is managed by Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
